Touched...

As i scanned through the news in fb, happened to see Amelia and Weihao's proposal video..
I was very touched.. and i even teared... How i wish i could have a chance to be like them... All their first times... their story will continue.. I remembered mine too... but my story will never have a chance to go on....

It's been awhile.. Wasn't in the mood to blog ever since I joined the Airforce.. Kinda restricted as to what I can post..
Been under extreme stress this period of time and losing my sleep every night. Thinking about work, family, and the love of my life. Truely understand the feeling of helplessness and heartache. I juz hope everything will be over soon...

Effective?

Not too long ago, i attended this course at Civil Service College - Facilitating WITS Effectively. WITS stands for Work Improvement TeamS. I was taught how to make use of certain tools and techniques to facilitate projects, meetings, as well as problem solving. We were made to participate in the activities for experiential learning. Turns out really well for a person who tends to sleep in class like me... I managed to survive through 2 full days without sleeping in class, even though i was damn tired from the lack of sleep the night before. :)

Back to the techniques. Not sure if others have heard of these.. "Affinity Diagram", "Gantt Chart", "Effective use of Pareto Diagrams for analysis", "Relations Diagram", "Tree Diagram", "Arrow Diagram", "PDPC Chart", etc. These are very good and simple tools for planning and solving problems systematically and effectively. "Relations Diagram", my personal favourite. A relations Diagram is a Diagram where the problem and the factors are shown in short and concise words, and arranged so that all factors are linked in relation to each other and subsequently to the problem. Through this diagram, the root causes to the problem can be picked out and dealt with individually. Maybe i should try this... Never know, might help to solve my probs. :p (Problem statement: Strained Relationship) Will blog about this if succeed. Haha.

This sets me thinking as well. What do I want in life? Do I really enjoy my work? What do I want to achieve? What are my goals? From Primary sch to Secondary sch to Junior College to University to Working life... It's smooth-sailing for me... So much so that I haven't been thinking what I really want to do and achieve in life. I feel that I'm not exposed enough to know my options. I'm like a frog in a well. Sad... I desperately need to find meaning in my life...

Hmmm.... something I've learnt in the class... Kinda liked it alot.. :p

My First Home-Made KaYA!

Labour Day, supposedly a day to relax and take a break from work. Well, suddenly had this crazy idea to make my own kaya... And here it is, my very first master piece. :p

The making of KAYA:

Pandan leaves

250ml of Coconut

10 Large eggs

500g of Sugar

Sieve after mixing all together

Steam bath and stir for 2 hours


The Final Product



Can you smell it? Delicious!

You can make your own Kaya too.. :P

Updates...

Participated in the SubUrban Run @ Punggol on 15th March. My first ever paid run.. Hahah..
Well, not a very long distance. 10km. But certainly a significant one for a non-marathon runner like me. :p
Had blisters and abrasions after the run... Juz have to take some preventive measures for my next challenge. Yup! My next challenge... I've signed up for the 15km PassionRun this coming May. And next will be Army Half Marathon in Aug for a good 21km. My ultimate goal is to take part in the 42km Standard Chartered Marathon this Dec.. Wish me good luck!!

-2 Months 16 Days to Commissioning-

WakeBoarding~

For those who are interested in where and what i'm doing now.. Well... I'm having attachment at Chong Pang Camp currently. Been to Tengah Airbase, Murai Camp, and Paya Lebar Airbase for attachment for the past 2 months. Next stop will be Sembawang Airbase.
Life's been hectic with all the courses and projects ongoing. But i've been enjoying myself ever since I had signed on that piece of paper. Tough but satisfying. I've heard seniors saying that this training period is the most enjoyable but will also be the last before work really starts in the base. Exciting but worried as well, hopefully this job is what i wanted. Shall see....
Counting down: 3 months 8 days to Commissioning. :P


Amid my busy schedule, I'd not failed to put aside time for some exciting action and fun! Went with some of my coursemates in AFS to Punggol Marina for wakeboarding. My first time. Yes!!!! It's my first ever wakeboarding in my life... I've always wanted to try this exciting sport but didn't have the company and time till now. Haha.. At last! It's definitely an ESCAPADE!!
Hopefully i didn't sound too exaggerated. :) Nevertheless, it's been a great experience... I'm certainly going for a next round soon...

Air Wing Social Night

Air Wing Social Night was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel on 20th Nov.
I was put to the VIP table with DY Commander LTC Armudan, MAJ Loke and Wing Sergent Major cos i was one of the award winners (Best in Physical Fitness - Female). Stress sia.. Haha. But the food was good and the "performance" was entertaining too.
